The Outstanding Balances Report gives details of the loans that are still pending payment up to given date.
How to view the Outstanding Balances Report
To view the outstanding balances report you go to the Loans->Portfolio Reports->Outstanding Balances Report and a screen like the one below shows up:
Reporting date: Enter the date as at which you would like to generate a report, e.g., "01/03/2013".
Recalculate interests for loans on declining balance?: When this option is selected, you will be able to generate a report for outstanding loans as at a particular date inclusive of the accumulated interest for the time an installment on a loan has been defaulted.
Note: This option is only possible for loans whose interest calculation is on the declining balance method, not flat rate method. For example if you are generating an outstanding balance report on 02/03/2013, and a loan happens to be due on 01/03/2013 but it has not been paid, then interest for the one day in default will be calculated and reflected in the outstanding balances report
Report currency: From the drop down select the currency in which the report will appear, e.g., "UGX". In case the report has transactions in other currencies too, then LPF will convert all other transactions in to the report currency.
Branch code:Choose the branchcodefrom the drop-down or tick the Check for all Branches checkbox to include all branches.
Credit officer: Select from the drop down box a particular credit officer whom you want to generate a report about, this may be to see the outstanding balances on loans that were handled by that officer. You may tick the Check for all option in order to have a report on all credit officers who may have handled Loans.
Loan fund: From the drop down box, select a particular loan fund that you want to generate a report for. You may tick the Check for all option to have a report on all funds that are available in the system.
Geographical area: From the drop down box, select a particular geographical area that you want to generate a report for. You may tick the Check for all option to have a report on all geographical areas.
Loan product: From the drop down box, select a loan product that you want to generate a report about. You may tick the Check for all option to have a report on all loan products that are available in the system.
Business Sector: From the drop down box, select a business sector from which you want to generate a report about. You may tick the Check for all option to have a report on all business sectors that are available in the system.
Cost Center: From the drop down box, select a cost center for which you want to generate a report about. You may tick the Check for all option to have a report on all business sectors that are available in the system.
Grouping/Order: Select from the drop down box how the report to be generated will be classified in the column title/heading, e.g, "Loan Product". The report generated will hence be grouped per loan product.
Report Format: Select from the drop down box the sequence in which the column titles in your report should appear. Loan Performer offers a variety of formats for you to choose from, e.g., "Format (1)".
Client Category 1: From the drop down box, select a client based on the classification that you made at Menu Support Files Client Category 1 / Client Category 2 and Client Category 3. You may tick the Check for all option to have a report on all options under each client category.
Loan Category 1: From the drop down box, select a classification of a loan that you made at Menu Support Files/Loan Category 1 / Loan Category 2 and Loan Category 3. You may tick the Check for all option to have a report on all options under each loan category.
Guarantee Items: Select a class of items that were used as security for loans from the drop down box. You may tick the Check for all option to have a report on all the different classes that are available in the system.
Additional filtering options?: This option is used to get a particular field or specification that you want. It helps you to narrow down the information that you need. When you check this option and click ok, a pop up screen will appear that looks as follows:
Here you have to select the field in the Filter Criteria and also choose a Relational Operator, in the example above we checked "=" (the equals symbol). This symbol means the name will be equal to the Value selected. In the screen above, the filter criteria selected is Name and the name selected is Ababantule Grp and Akol MikeRoth. This means that the report to be generated will be for "Ababantule Grp" and "Akol MikeRoth".
Click the Ok command button which will get you a pop up screen that will give you a summary of the filter options that you selected. Click the Yes command button to generate a report on outstanding balances.
When you do not select the additional filter option, you will continue with the details in the first screen and it will be as follows:
Specify the loan type to report on, i.e., "Individual Loan", "Group Loan"
orselect the Allradio button to include all loans types.
Select any other required additional options or use the default selections. For additional information on these options you can refer to Portfolio Report Formats.
Click on theOK button to view the report which will look similar to the following:
Click on the Close command button to exit the menu.
